DESCRIPTION:Young Learner Starter Kit\nIt is a one week long course which provides teachers with the initial tools to start teaching children from age 6 to 11. \nWho is the course for? \nThis 100% online course is aimed at teachers who have taken their CELTA and want to broaden their knowledge in the area of Young Learners. It is also suitable for experienced teachers of adults who want to move into working with children. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAims and Structure\nThis course is practical and consists of workshops and input on the key basics in YL teaching. \nCourse Participants (Cps) will: \n\nPractice planning to meet aims\nLearn about activities to use to stimulate and support language development\, for example craft\, games\, stories and songs and ways to make learning opportunities from play\nLearn classroom management techniques\nPractice online teaching\n\nSeminars and inputs will take place completely online with interactive remote lessons. All trainees will then have the opportunity to peer teach online\, putting their new skills into practice and receiving feedback from the tutors. There are no written assignments or coursework. \nCPs will self-assess their learning throughout the course\, compiling a learner diary which\, along with their tried and tested lesson plans and feedback will provide them with a portfolio of ideas\, suggestions and reflections to take them forward in their YL teaching. \nIf you’ve always wanted to teach Young Learners\, this course is the kit you need to get started!
