11 May 2020
  • This event has passed.

The pre-service CELTA course is aimed mainly at people with little or no teaching experience. It is also suitable for people with teaching experience but without any formal training. It is considered a solid base for teaching English as a foreign language.

The course is recognised by EFL organisations throughout the world and the certificate is the most highly respected of its type.

Enrolment requirements

The requirements to join the course are: minimum CEFR level of English high C1 or above and a high school diploma or equivalent. Please note that many employers require a degree as well.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old (at the start of the course) and, generally speaking, must have a level of education which will enable them to enter higher education in their own countries.

The course is open to native and non-native speakers although candidates must have a competence and knowledge of English, both written and spoken, that enables them to take the course and teach English.

The course consists of seminars with your tutors in the morning, where you will learn about different teaching techniques and aspects of the English language, and teaching practice  in the afternoon. Here you will have the opportunity to teach real students, and afterwards you will get feedback on your lessons from your tutor and peers.

Frequency

5 days a week for 4 weeks (intensive course) or 1 day a week for 21 weeks (extensive course)

HOW TO ENROL: download and fill in the enrolment form; you will then be contacted for an interview with a Teacher Training Coordinator.
