IELTS Test
We are the first IDP IELTS authorised IELTS test centre in Europe
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test assesses the English language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is the language used. IELTS is the world’s most popular English language test – more than 3 million tests have been taken in the last 12 month – because it assesses the language skills (listening, reading, speaking & writing) in a fair, reliable and accurate way based on rigorous standards.
More than 11,000 organisations in over 140 countries recognise or even require IELTS certification for purposes that range from immigration to undergraduate and postgraduate studies, work permits and personnel selection. IELTS is therefore the perfect test if you’re preparing to study or migrate to an English speaking country.
IELTS is ideal also for teachers who want to see their result acknowledged in the rankings and contests for Italian public schools: indeed, IELTS is recognised by the MIUR.

International House Milano offers the opportunity to take the IELTS test several times a month in a welcoming and professional environment not only in Milan, at the school in Viale Brenta 27, but also at all the offices of our partners in Italy. It was also the first IELTS center in Europe to offer the candidates of the Milan office the computer test, thus offering an equivalent, quick and intuitive alternative to the traditional paper based test.
IELTS is ideal for registration with professional registers because it is accepted by professional registration bodies and associations in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the USA, the UK as well as many non-English-speaking countries. Many of the registration bodies that accept IELTS represent the health care professions, such as nursing, medicine and pharmacy, where English language competence is of critical importance. Other professional bodies that require IELTS include accounting, engineering, law and veterinary practice, and a wide range of other employers from sectors such as banking and finance, government, construction, energy and natural resources, aviation.
All the professional associations and registration bodies that accept IELTS are listed at www.ielts.org
