Important update about the IELTS on paper format

What IELTS on paper was
IELTS on paper was the paper-based version of the IELTS test.
With this format, the Listening, Reading and Writing sections were completed on paper, while Speaking was completed with an IELTS examiner.
For many candidates it was a preferred option, especially because of familiarity with paper. Today, however, the main IELTS format is IELTS on computer.
What changes now
IELTS has introduced an important update in the way the test is delivered. The paper-based format is being phased out and the IELTS system is moving towards computer delivery.
This means that anyone currently looking for IELTS on paper in Milan should now consider IELTS on computer as the reference format for the present and the future of the test.
For this reason, this page is now an information and update page, not a booking page.
IELTS on computer is now the reference format
The main format for taking IELTS is now IELTS on computer.
With IELTS on computer:
- Listening, Reading and Writing are completed on a computer
- Speaking is completed with an IELTS examiner
- the test is taken in person at an authorised centre
- results are generally available online more quickly
If your goal is to take the IELTS test in Milan, IELTS on computer is now the format to consider.
