Young Learners Starter Kit (6–11) – live online teacher training
The Young Learners Starter Kit is an intensive, practical online course for teachers who want to start teaching English to children aged 6–11. It helps participants build confidence, classroom routines and a bank of ready-to-use activities for primary-age learners.
Dates and timetable
Next course: Wednesday 2, Thursday 3, Friday 4, Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 September 2026.
Timetable: 15:00–18:15, Italian time.
The course runs live online on Zoom over five afternoons, excluding Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September.
Format and structure
- Delivery: 100% live online on Zoom
- Course focus: teaching English to children aged 6–11
- Structure: 8 live sessions + peer Teaching Practice + individual tutorial
- Methodology: practical workshops, demonstrations, micro-teaching and shared resources
- Certificate: IH Milano | San Donato certificate of attendance on completion
Who it is for
This course is ideal for teachers who already have an initial teaching qualification, such as CELTA or equivalent, and want to move into Young Learner teaching. It is also suitable for teachers who already teach adults and want to expand into teaching children aged 6–11.

- lesson planning for primary-age learners
- classroom management, routines and engagement
- games, songs, chants and practical classroom activities
- using online resources with young learners
- micro-teaching and teaching practice with tutor feedback
Entry requirements
- minimum C1 level of English
- an initial teaching qualification, such as CELTA or equivalent
- some general teaching experience
Specific experience with children aged 6–11 is not required. The course is designed for teachers who want to build practical foundations for working with Young Learners.
