Description
The CELTA is the world’s most widely recognised and highly regarded initial qualification for teaching English as a second language.
It is accredited at Level 5 in the UK by the Office of Qualification and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) and is a 20-credit qualification. Three out of four English language teaching jobs require a CELTA qualification, making it the gold standard for securing a job in the world of TEFL. CELTA is a Cambridge English qualification, which is part of the University of Cambridge.
The pre-service CELTA course is aimed at people with little to no teaching experience. It is also suitable for those with teaching experience but with no formal training. It is considered a solid base for teaching English as a foreign language.
Whether you’re a new teacher looking for your first job, or you want to prove to employers that you have the teaching skills with a recognised certificate, CELTA is the qualification you need.
