Free CELTA Q&A Session – Thursday 8 January 2026 (Online)

Who this CELTA Q&A is for

This session is for you if:

  • you are fluent in English but are not sure if your level is high enough for CELTA
  • you do not have an official English certificate and are wondering if this is a problem
  • you want to know if it is realistic to combine CELTA with a job or university
  • you are curious about real job opportunities after the CELTA
  • you are considering applying for the February 2026 Full-Time CELTA

What we will cover

During the session, James will:

  • give a short, practical overview of the CELTA course formats (full-time, part-time, extensive, online and face-to-face)
  • explain the entry requirements and what “C1+/C2 level of English” means in practice
  • clarify whether you need an English certificate (IELTS, Cambridge, etc.) to apply
  • discuss how CELTA works if you are working or studying at the same time
  • talk about typical job routes after CELTA and how IH Milan supports your next steps

There will be plenty of time for live questions, so you can ask about your specific situation.

Key question: “Do I need an English certificate to access the CELTA?”

The number-one question we receive is:

“I’m fluent in English, but I don’t have a certificate of my level. Can I still access the CELTA course?”

In this Q&A we will focus on:

  • how we assess your English level during the application and interview
  • when an official certificate might help and when it is not necessary
  • how to understand if your current level is close to high C1 / C2, as required by Cambridge.
