Andrew, from Arizona – USA, tells us all about his experience with IH Milano
Andrew did an internship at our school in Milan and attended one of our Italian group courses. We would like to thank him for all his help, friendliness and enthusiasm!
“Hello my name is Andrew, I am currently finishing my degree in marketing at Arizona State University. Two months ago I was fortunate enough to be able to study abroad in Italy for the summer. My goals were to study the Italian culture and become an intern at an Italian company. I was fortunate enough to be apart of the International house team as a lead intern.
From the very beginning I received the sense of welcoming, which turned into a sense of home. The staff and teachers were absolutely incredible from the very start. I was able to attend the Language course in the morning, and from that I learned so much Italian in just a short period of time. At first I was a little scared to take on the class, because I have never studied another language before in a foreign country. Cristina and Fabio were my amazing teachers that were very patient and welcoming from the beginning. They were ready to get to know me first. I have never learned in an environment, like International House offers. I really enjoyed this feature, because coming from America it was so new to me. Every day I would wake up and be so excited to take my lessons. The amount of Italian language that I learned in just two weeks, will be so beneficial to me in my future career.
Everyday in the afternoon I would work with the marketing department. The internship was very hands on and from the first day. As an intern at international house I was integrated into several marketing campaigns and my ideas were never turned away. I felt like I was apart of a team accomplishing something great. The time would pass by so fast, because I was always be busy, working on projects with Francesca and Fiona. If you’re looking for a great internship to help jumpstart your career, I would highly recommend applying at international house. Not only will you become a great intern, but you will become a family member of such a wonderful team. I will miss the entire staff, but I hope to return soon.
